About

Founded in 1972, MARAC is a vibrant, volunteer-run organization welcoming archivists who live and work in the mid-Atlantic region, which includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

MARAC’s mission is to provide high-quality, affordable archival education; encourage diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility in the profession; foster collegiality among archival workers; and support archival advocacy throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. It seeks to engage all those who work with archives in our region and create a welcoming, supportive educational community.

MARAC thrives because of generous donations which provide both individual and collective support to archivists and repositories in the Mid-Atlantic region. In addition to one-time gifts, donations can be made through Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD), planned giving, and memorial donations.
